Amendment of Ordinance, No. 20 of 1923, s.3.

3. Section 3 of the Fire Brigade Ordinance, 1923

is amended by the deletion from paragraph (1)(b)

thereof of the words, "members of the Brigade or".

Objects and Reasons.

1. Section 2 of this Ordinance enables the Governor to

grant Medals to any members of the Brigade for extraordinary

or specially meritorious services or for long and faithful

service, upon the same basis as regards classes of Medals

and allowances in respect of such classes of medals as

exists in the case of members of the Police Force.

2. Such allowances, as in the case of medals granted to

the Police,

(i) Will continue for so long only as the

recipient remains in the Brigade.

(ii) Are not pensionable.

(iii) and are liable to be withdrawn in the event

of subsequent misconduct.

3. Section 3 of the Crdinance effects an amendment in

section 3 of the Fire Brigade Crdinance 1923, which is consequential upon section 2 of this Ordinance.
